ABOUT ME
After completing a Bachelor of Social Sciences in Psychology at the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal, I went on to achieve an Honours Degree specialising in psychology at UNISA. I married and with my husband moved to Pretoria to pursue my Masters in Clinical Psychology at the University of Pretoria. Here, I was chosen to join the Golden Key Society as a result of my academic achievements.

As a student psychologist I worked at 1 Military Hospital, Westkoppies Psychiatric Hospital and Itoseng community clinic in Mamelodi. To complete my training, I rotated between King Dinuzulu Hospital Complex, Addington Hospital and R.K Khan hospital for my internship. I then chose to complete my community service year at Africa’s largest hospital, Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital in Johannesburg.

I have worked at several NGO’s and for causes that I hold close to my heart. I have a special interest in working with children with Autism and have worked and trained as an Applied Behavioural Anaysis (ABA) therapist at The Star Academy. I am committed to assisting special needs children and their families.

Presently, I am in private practice in Alberton. I have experience in individual, couples, group, and family therapy and have treated a wide range of conditions in a variety of settings.

I am trained in several approaches, including: Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy and Systems Therapy. My approach is largely informed by a Cognitive Behavioural perspective, though I believe that for therapy to be successful, it must be tailored for the specific needs of the individual, couple or family.

I work with adults, children, adolescents, families and couples. I am able to assist those who are experiencing life stressors such as relationship problems, mental health/physical difficulties, trauma, loss/grief and career/personal growth issues.

I have a special interest in attachment difficulties, trauma and loss, mood and anxiety disorders and autism.
